MailTeam

Setup

Three steps: sign up, connect a mailbox, paste one URL into your AI client. There is nothing to install and nothing to migrate.

MailTeam has not launched, so you cannot walk through this yet. It is written down because the shape of it is settled, not because the door is open.

1. Sign up

An email address and a password. That account owns your mailbox connections, your per-tool switches, your authorized documents and your templates.

2. Connect a mailbox

There are two ways to do this, and they end in the same place.

Bring your own mailbox

Give us the mailbox address, the IMAP host and port, the SMTP host and port, and an app password for the account. This works with any IMAP and SMTP mailbox you already have, and you keep using it exactly as you do now — MailTeam is another client connecting to it, not a replacement for it.

A mailbox on your own domain

If you would rather we hosted it, we create the mailbox on a domain you own. You add the DNS records the setup shows you, we watch for them to go live, and the mailbox and its credentials are created for you — there is nothing for you to copy between two providers.

Either way, mailbox credentials are stored encrypted, and they are never shown back to you after you enter them. Afterwards the account shows the mailbox address and the host it connects to, and nothing else.

3. Paste one connector URL

Your account issues a single connector URL. Paste it into Claude’s or ChatGPT’s custom-connector settings, restart the client, and the tools appear. That is the whole of the setup.

From then on the switches you set on your account decide what the assistant is offered. Change one and the next conversation sees the change; nothing has to be re-pasted.

The connector URL is a credential: anyone holding it reaches your mailbox within the limits your switches set. It can be revoked and reissued.
